American Optical Mill

American Optical Mill is an adaptive reuse of an historic optical mill into an all-affordable 48-unit community in Southbridge, Massachusetts. The project is part of the larger 50-acre campus that used to headquarter the American Optical company.

 

The redevelopment utilized State and Federal low income housing tax credits and State soft debt. A member of the Boston Communities team worked on this project while employed by the developer.
