Mission Main Tenant Task Force & WinnDevelopment
Mission Main is a renovation of the transit-oriented, 535 unit, mixed-income, public housing community in Mission Hill, Boston. The project connects the Longwood Medical MBTA Greenline Station to the Roxbury Crossing MBTA Orangeline Station. The renovation includes new kitchens and bathrooms for the 445 low-income and the 90 market-rate families as well as exterior open space and sidewalk improvements.
The redevelopment will increase the energy efficiency of the current community by adding solar panels to the community building and mid-rise building, new Energy Star appliances, low-flow fixtures, smart thermostats, and ductless central air split system to the townhome units.
Mission is a RAD / Section 18 blend conversion utilizing 4% tax credits and bond financing. A member of the Boston Communities team worked on this project while employed by the developer.
